Bravinsan is a German/French composer, pianist and producer. Born in Germany to Sri-Lankan parents, raised in London,UK and now residing in Paris. He trained as a classical pianist at the Trinity College of Music in London. Exposed to various influences of music since a young age, Bravinsan co-created his electronic duo Jaffna in 2016. Their first EP Ripples gained success with over 10 million listens.
Bravinsan has his base in Paris where he works as a film composer/producer. Most recent works include a feature film co-score with Thylacine for Olivier Peyon’s film Arrête avec tes mensonges. A documentary film for France television titled L'Homme de Boue on the life and work of French Sculptor and Painter Olivier de Sagazan, and a Sound Design/Immersive experience project for a Medical Tech company Zoī in Paris. Notable other works are in production for release later on in the year and 2026 including a documentary film titled Diosa by Canada/Vixens Films, a documentary film by Band à Part Films on the life of a Sri-Lankan refugee in Switzerland and a crime/thriller TV series titled Sud Est for Canal +.
In addition to composing for film, Bravinsan also produces and arranges music for himself and other artists, and regularly tours as a pianist with Thylacine. He has performed in prestigious venues such as the Philharmonie de Paris, Seine Musicale, Salle Pleyel, and L’Olympia. Currently, he is preparing for Thylacine’s upcoming album tour, which will include major European cities later this year, followed by an extensive tour across France in 2026.
Bravinsan is equally passionate about music education. After teaching for 10 years at the Ermitage International School of France, he now continues to share his expertise by teaching piano/composition to select students in Paris and Maisons-Laffitte.
