Bravinsan is a German-French composer, pianist, producer, and songwriter. Born in Germany to Sri Lankan parents, raised in London, UK, and now based in Paris, he trained as a classical pianist at Trinity College of Music in London. Raised on a diverse palette of musical influences, Bravinsan co-founded the electronic duo Jaffna in 2016. He is currently crafting a solo project, a forthcoming EP titled In Plural Form, that reconnects with his roots through songs performed in Tamil, his mother tongue.
Bravinsan is currently based in Paris, where he works as a film composer and producer. His recent work includes co-composing the score for Olivier Peyon's feature film Arrête avec tes mensonges alongside Thylacine, composing the music for the documentary film L'Homme de Boue, and contributing to a sound design and immersive experience project for the Paris-based medical technology company Zoī.
Upcoming projects include the documentary film Diosa (Canada/Vixens Films), a Band à Part Films documentary about the life of a Sri Lankan refugee in Switzerland (Une Terre Sableuse), the Canal+ crime-thriller TV series Singapura, and the feature film Les Filles d'Abraham by Hanaël El Yousfi. Bravinsan also regularly works as a session pianist for other composers, including Saycet (Changer l'eau des fleurs, Les Disparues de la gare for Disney+) and Uèle Lamore (Maigret for PBS).
In addition to his work for film, Bravinsan produces and arranges music for both his own projects and other artists, and regularly tours as a pianist with Thylacine. He has performed at prestigious venues such as the Philharmonie de Paris, La Seine Musicale, Salle Pleyel, and L'Olympia. He is currently touring Thylacine's ROADS Vol. 3 album, performing in major European cities as well as on an extensive tour across France.
